The meeting was called to order at the hour of 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Sdashburn in the chair. Councilmen R. Hull, R. Mach*, J. Tavis, S. Farber and Mayor ?niashburn were present. Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of May l4, 1951, and cor- rected. the wording,. "to start on their building plans" to "authorized to present the building plans", in Item 4, line n, and there being no further errors or ommis were approved as read. Thereupon the Clerk read the minutes of the Special meeting of May 18, 1951 and there being no errors or omissions, were aproved as read. J~]hereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, seconded by Councilman Tavis that Resolution ivo. 687 regarding Transfer of Funds be passed and adopted as read. Motion, upon vote, was carried. 4hereupon it was moved by Councilman Macy, seconded by Councilman Farber that Resolution No. 688 regarding Park caretaker position vacancy be passed and adopted as read. I~fotion, upon vote, was carried. 6t'hereupon it was moved by Councilman I~4ac~.*,"seconded by Councilman Tavia that Resolution 689 regarding hiring of James Cox be passed and adopted as read. Motion, upon:?. vote, was carried. 'whereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, seconded by Councilman Hull that the building inspector be appointed as auditor for the City of Elsinore on auditing materials on Sewer Disposal Plant for payment as set up in Specifications of the Outfall Sewer and Sewer Disposal Plant. Motion, upon vote, seas carried. 4hereupon it was moved b~. Councilman Farber, seconded by Councilman Tavis that the following streets be blacktopped: Spring Street, north of Graham Avenue for ~ blocks and south of Graham 1 block. Heald Avenue from Spring.Street to Langstaff Street, 2 blocks. Library Street, 1 block. Motion, upon vote was carried. I ~ ?~Pnereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, seconded by Councilman Hull that the sewer-dine from junction of Chestnut Street and E. Graham Avenue, East on E. Gr for approximately 35t• feet, be put in when monies, from lot owners within the above footage,q~6 paid into the City Treasury. Motion, upon vote, was carried. ?dhereupon it was moved by Mayor aashburn, seconded by Councilman Hull that the clerk send telegrams of protest to Assemblyman Babbage and Senator Dilsivorth on the passage of ACA Bill No. 60. Motion, upon vote, was carried. Thereupon the clerk read bids from Lakeside Chevrolet Co., i~l. G. Barber, and Chevron Station on four 600 x 16 six ply tires. trdhereupon it was moved by Councilman Farber, seconded by Councilman Hull that the bid for four 600 x 16 six ply tires be allowed to the Lakeside Chevrolet Co. DAY OF May zs 51 ;~Tnereupon it was moved by Councilman Hull, seconded by Councilman Tavis, that- " the two traffic buttons at the intersection of Main and Heald Streets be removed. Motion, upon vote, was carried. Thereupon the clerk read a letter from Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce asking the. Council for monies for advertising the City. Mayor 6~Tashburn is to answer the letter in person that the council as a vrhole"will make a further study a.nd give III it favorable consideration. Mr. Harmon is to fix the manhole cover in front of :ffomen's Club immediately as it is creating a traffic hazard. Councilman Hull gave police department report for previous t~.~o weeks. Police Chief V. C. Burch be allowed to take his two week vacation from June 8, 195E I. Bradley be alloyed to take his vacation in June and his replacement to be J. Trueitt. Mayor ?Mashburn recommended Mrs. Evans be appointed to Library Doard of Trustees. The Council recommended to the Planning Commission that on the new Zoning Map the area south of Sumner Street and east of Scrivener Street-designated as R-1 be changed to R-3, be considered. •_ A. 'rT. Montonya told the council he wished to resign his position. ia?hereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, seconded by Councilman Macy, that A. iJ. Montonya's resignation not be accepted until a committee of three, Hull, 11^avis, and Macy talk to the Superintendent. Motion, upon vote, was carried. '.dhereupon it was moved by Councilman" Tavis, seconded by Councilman Hull, that bills be paid as audited b~.~ auditing committee and -warrants be drawn for same. Motion, upon vote, was carried. v1nereupon it was moved by Councilman Tavis, seconded b;r Councilman Macy, that there being no further business, the meeting adjourn at 9:A5 P. M.
