The regular meeting of Elsinore city council was held on the above date and was called
I to order at ~:30pm with Moyor Morgan to the ehair~following eounci]men answered roll

The clerk read the minutes of meeting held August llth~also minutes of Planning Coffin.

The proposed budget of the recreation commission which was submitted with their minute.

Mayor„Morgan appointed Mr Vern Swi.ck a member of the Recreation Commission to succeed
RevoKoenig who has motred away.

Counci]man Nelson reported on police department matters~~the discharge of Capt Hayman
and the resignation of chief Burch,resolution ~141~. was read to council declaring the
position of chief of police vacant ahd providing for the appointment of a sueessor to
Burch~Councilman Nelson suggested the appointment of Capt Hayman to this position
and by the following vote resolution ~7l~lr. was adopted.

Clerk was instructed to arrange cancellation of surety bend on X-chief Burch atui seen
bond on Hayman.
Chief Hyman was instructed to a~~€ offer position of Matron to Allene Mellon at
salary oP~121.00 which was accepted and Mellon appointed to fill the vacancy left by
the resignation of Mrs Hartman on Agnst 11th-1952.
I It was moved by councilman Hull 2nd by Nelson that city purchase for use by the police
~i dept the matrons badge owned by xpmatron Hartman at price of $3,$6 Carried
Mr Lucking of Cal Elec Power Co was present and at request of council spoke one the
possibility of expanding and improving our street lighting syst~~he advised the counc
C that the present low wltage system would not caxry a great deal of expansion and
offered the services of a competent lighting engineer to make a thorough study of the
i entire syatem,~~ which offer was accepted by th`e council with thw request
j that he offer a longs range plan of improvementyafter the survey is completed.
f'~ Sealed bids were opened for the purchase of 1000 ft of 10~~ transits pipe~Johns-d4anvi:

onthe corner of Maier & Graham Sts on existing poles.

was authorized to purchase needed valves ells & tees for the new 10~~ water main. j
Mr Soots presented a plan to cohstruet a tool shed at dty yard explaining that it
could be done at very little expense using corrigated iron which can be obtained from
Dill lammber Co in exchange for ~€ a quanity of surplus i/2 inch pipe now on hand and
not needed'it was moved by councilman ~^laehburn 2nd by Hull and carried that Mr Soots
be authorized to proceed with the planymotion carried.
Mr Soots requested supply of misc. small tools anti supplies be purchased from Pacific ~~
Mill & Mine SuppJ,p Co to be held at yard for use where & when needed~on motion by ~,
