MEETING HELD ON THE Eighth DAY OF September '~2 The regular meeting of the-city council city of Elsinore was held on the above date Eand was called to order at 7:30 pm with-Mayor Morgan in the chair,follovring councilmen ~~ answered roll-call Councilmen J3hnson,ir7ashburn,Nelson,Mayor Morgan.. councilman Httl.7. ab The clerk read the minutes of the regular meeting of August 25th 1952 also the minutes ioP Planning Commission meeting of Sept /~th 1g52 there being no errmrs or omissiass note ~~ they were approved ascread. ~ I !~ The pl.acuiing ommission zoning ordinance referred to intheir minutes was discussed at !considerable ~enght,and it was decided to request the commission to take such existing zoning ordinances as we now have and work out an amended ordinance and submit same to the council together with such zoning maps etc as they have at a date convenient to the;; icommicssion~ clerk instructed to write commission advising them of this. ~On motion by councilman Washburn 2nd by Nelson and carried that clerk advertise for }bids on the codification o~ ordinances in local and Riverside papers. ~~Council was advised that water clerks records show that Lake Theatre has not been billed -for refuse co]lection sonce it was opened clerk was instructed to write Mr Patterson requesting remittance to cover 24 months service at ~2.OOper month. I ~sClerk brou t up the matter of refund on sewer deposit as' ~~ gh requested by Mr Paul Payn; ~Ein his letter of Feb ].lath 1952.records showing that Mr Payne deposited ~1y00.00 June 11th` ~E1949 and had been refunded $200.00 and aws now entitled to refund of the balance, {': ~~clerk was instructed to draw vrarrant favor. of Mr Payne for $200.OQ. Vi ~Mr Doyne Stokes appeared before council requesting financial aid in sponsoring a dance €~ honori.x~g servicemen and their families residing in this area~the matter was referred to { ~jthe recreation commission. I Chief Hayman asked permission to replace Mrs Mellon with a man for night desk duty for the protection of night duty officer in case of trouble,chi.ef was authorized to assign releif officer Waters to the desk Sob nights,and employ Jewell Fletcher as a patrolman at salary of ~21a2.00 per month~elerk instructed to present a resolution covering Chief also asked permission to use the street sweepers pick~zp in case of break- down of polmce car especially at ni.ght~ permission granted. Mr Soots asked permission to buy i drum !a0 wt oil,spindle bolts and misc.small parts to make minor repairs to Chev dump truck also a 1/2 hp motor to rig up a grinder for general use at the city yard~approx cost of motor ~3k.00,on motion by Nelson 2nd by Johnson and carried clerk was instructed to issue P 0 for cameo Purchase of new truck to replace the ~ 1936 Ford now in service of water department was brought up and after discussion it .was decided to make purchase now and the clerk was instructed to advertise for bids. Clerk was instructed to draw up aresoiution adopting the Chinese Elm as the city tree. to be set out re~7.aeing the pepper trees as they are removed.
