-The city. council of the city of Elsinore met in regulat session on the abovedate~and~
was called to order at 7:30pm with Mayor Morgan in the chair following councilmen
answered roll-call Johnson~Hu7l~Nelson and Mayor Morgan: Councilman Washburn absent,
Clerk read the minutes of council meeting of Sept,$th 1952 also minutes of planning
commission meeting of Sept 18th 1952 no errors or omissions being noted minutes were
j approved as read.
Clerk read letter from County Surveyors office regarding survey and possible joint use
~ of the new city dump, clerk instructed to call or write thean requesting they submit
~ a proposal for terms of such joint use~als~ read a resolution by the Imperial Highway
,~ Association objecting to proposed change in name of Santa Ana Canyon Highway to Corona
_~ I~ Freeway which was noted and ordered filed.
~ Clerk read letter from Samuel Farber and Associates requesting refund on sewer deposit
i made in 19k9 covering sewer installation at Ellis & Pottery Sts action on this was
~ deferred until a later date,
Clerk read resolution No.748 a resolution allocating certain Gas Tax monies to be
~ expended on project ~ 21AB which project calls for the re-paving Heald Ave to a width
~~ /~0 feet from Scrivner to Langstaff Streets~on roll-call vote reoluti.on no,71F8 was
~~ adopted and Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign on behalf of city and forward to
~~; California Division of Highways for completion,
Mr Patterson of Lake Theatre Corporation spoke briefly regarding bill presented by the
city for two years refuse collection service at new Lake Theatre:after discussion a
price of $21,00 was agreed upon as an equitable settleanent~clerk instructed to bill
Mr Patterson for this amount future billings to be made monthly on water bill.
Mr Patterson also stated he had an oppoirtunity to rent old theatre building to a color
group for religious services from Oct 5th to Dec 21st 1952yehief Hayman instructed to
check on reputation of the groups on motion by councilman Nelson sceond by Hul.~3 and
carried permission granted if approved by Chief Hayman,
I; Sealed bids were opened on the purchase of new truck for use in our sanitation serv~.eet
lakeside Chevrilet Co and T,ynn Equipment of San Bernardino were the only bidders ;;
~ after much discussion on relative merits. of the proposed trucks action was deferred ;~
and clerk instructed to secure more info on the GMC truck.
~~ Through the city clerk Elsinore Taxi asked for a Yellow loading zone in front of AlphaE
C Beta market om motion b~ councilman Hu31 second~by Nelson permission granted if no j
~I objection offered by market management~Chief Hayman instructed to confer with Mr ~ ~
Mansfield on_this subject.

It was moved by Councilman Nelson sceond by Hull and carried that Misc.Property Damage'
Supplement tc> pub]~c Liabi]ity Insurance as offered by Fidelity & Casuality Co thru ~

~~-Chief Hayman advised that officer Bittle wished his vacation and asked permission to
( use reserve sherifs officer Chas Ray for the relief of Bittle for two weeks,

Councilman Nelson suggested a stop sign be placed at the intersection of Franklin and `'
chestnut streeta~on motion by'councilmar- Hull second by Nelson sign was ordered
' pllaced at this interesction against noth bound traffic entering Franklin St,

along Poe street Heald to Graham which were reducing the efficiency. of the street
(~ lights in that area.
