DECEMBER 29th 1952 The: city councilof the city of Elsinore was called to order at 7;30pm with Mayos'Morgan ~residing~following councilmen answered-roll call. Washburn~Nelson and Mayor Morgan ~ounciluen Nelson led the salute to the flag and pledge of allegiance. Clerk read the minutes of December 8th meeting and there being errors or omissions note the minutes were approved as read, Communications; Letter from Elementary School Board requesting additional street light be installed on Langstaff street near mamn emtrance to the Grammer schoohalso letter from division of highways engineers pffice reference directional signing of interescti~ Highvaays 71 & 395 near Temecula, Clerk read resolution # 756 authorizing loan of $60,00 to 1912 sewer bond fund from the general fund'and resolution ¢1757 accepting resignation of Paul Kuenzli from positio of city hall janitor and appointing David Gagnon theretoyon motion by councilman Nelson seconded by Washburn all three resolutions were ~~~oadopted N Q n ~ I" N [Y j ~g 0 q ~£ Clerk read ordinance #3/~2 regulating junk-yards within the city which after discussion was tabled for fur-ther check with city attorney. On motion by councilman Washburn seconded by Nelson resolution /{'159 authorizing additional street light on Langstaff st near main emtrance to Grammer School was adopted. Application of Geo Bergren for Pool & Card-room license was presented together with letters of protest from Methodist Church~Elsinore Valley Ministerial association also petitions of protest signed by 95 valley reside3sts~after discussion it was decided to table the request until full council was present. Fire chief Boontjer was present and exhibited certificates of award issued to members of his department by state department of education following recent course of instruc'. and examinations council went on record as commneding the fire. department for this accomplishment and £ha very fine work done with the Christmas decorations. Claim of Ray Farrar in the amount of ~LL2o27 for water damages done to his property by the storm of November 22nd 1952 was presented and was refferred to insurance carrier by the council. Only one bid being received for tires and tubes on Mr Soots car clerk was instructed asked for additional bids to be presented at next meeting. 'Clerk asked for extra clerk-typist for a short period in January or Feburarg to, allow him away from routine duties to thoroughly check ordinance files and compile an index to the file that will provide proper access to ordinance information more readily the suggestion was favorably received and authorized. 0 On motion by cou~ici]man Washburn seconded by Nelson Mr A L Goodwin was appointed as a member planning commission to fill the vacancy left by resignation of James Basinger, MINUTE RECORD OF ~ _ MEETING HELD ON THE ..:29th DAY OF December _ _ _?~j2 ._. _ ~...~r..~s ..._..........~... _ -m_ve~s~..._...~_~v..m_ __ COR Chief o£ Police Hayman requested the appointment of James Cox as radio dispatbher ____ I & patrolamn to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of A E SJaters~clerk instru cted tp draw resolution making appointment at salary of X121.00 per montho ~~ !, Clerk was instructed to write census bureau relative talking 1953 census in the cit NIr Soots asked permission to request the motor vehicle dept for an emergency plate for his car~also asked permission to purchase a tapping machine for water departure and was instructed to secyre prices on the machine and make application for the platen • Fire chief Boontjer requested permission to purchase one Scott Air-Pak mask~two fog nozzles and a clutch for the 5eagrave Truck our motion by councilman Washburn seconded by Nelson .purchase of clutch was authorized and clerk instructed to se cur prices on other supplies, Clerk instructed to write highways engineers office further protests against the situation at the inter action of highways ~'jl & 395 as it does not appear that the ` proposed new sign willsufficient to releave the situation also instructed to mail copies to Highway plaamm~g commmssion'Senatoy~ Dilworth9Lee gackstrand~& Corona city councilo N Q •-P". ~ On motion by wuncilam Washburn seconded by Morgan bills as audited by committeee a,' -_ were allowed and warrants ordered drawn to pay same. ~- ~g LLg On motion b~ councilam Nelson seconded by Washburn the monthly reports o£ clerk and treasures £or November were:accepted as presented.
