HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-16-1959 City Council Minutes COUNICIL MEETING ISOVEMBER 16, 1959 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on November 16, 1959, and was cal}lto order at 7:30 p.m, with Nlayor Bartlett presiding. ,, Invocation was delivered by Rev. Easter, and Councilman Davidson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call found all five councilmen present. The minutes of Nov. 4 were approved as read, and the Planning Commission minutes of Nov. 1= were accepted and ordered filed. It was agreed that the Calif. Water & Telephone Co, should be advised to submit another agreement for an easement, stating that only additional overhead cable would be added to existing poles. Joseph Majas letter placed on file. On motion Nlayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman Davidson, Paul Kuenzli's request to take care of the Library & North Park upon his retirement, was disapproved. Dr. King's letter stating that the City was encroaching on his property, was tabled on motion Mayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman McAdams, car. Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce request for funds, was tabled to a future date when City could afford to donate to it's function. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough, Mayor Bartlett to attend the League of Cities meeting on Nov, 19, in Eeaumont. Re so 1. 996, authorizing a raise in pay for John Merrill as Police Sgt. carried on motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough. On mtStio`~`n~yor Bartlett, se~L~cotfded Councilman Davidson, carried, the Mayor's Proclavaticn for Farm-City Week was read. Councilman Yarborough reported that several companies had been contacted in regard to the conditioning of the wells, and drilling of a sweet water well, and .figures should bz in office in near future. Warrants audited byY the committee were approved & ordered paid on motion Councilman arborough, seconded Councilman Davidson. Larry Cartier, Pres, of the Chamber spoke briefly about it's flzture plans & functions. Mayor Bartlett stated that co-operation of all organizations, clubs and people needed in order to have a better town. Mona Leese, representing the Property Owners Asso. presented petitions consisting of 4 pages to the Council. Max Ruditz then read a speech to the Council.
