ADJCUFNED MEETING OCTCBER12, 1959
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met i.r. an adjourned
session on October 12, 1959, and was called to order at 7:30 P.NI.
with Tlayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by the Rev. Stillwell, and the Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Davidscn.
Roll call found all five councilmen present; the minutes of Oct.
5 were approved as read.
On motion Councilman Macy, seccrded Councilman McAdams, carried,
John Merrifield was appointed to the Planning Ccn~mi.ssion to fi.17.
the unexpired term of Errol McFwen.
~ On motion Councilman Mc~~.dams, seconded Ccxnci]man Macy, Rreal
Lansing was appointed to the Planning Commission to fill the
unexpired term of Joe Harrison.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidscn, the
California Water & Telephone Co. request for an easement through
Blk. 15 was refs'rred to the Planning Commission for their consideration.
The inquiry of Dr. Stallings about the water line for the Grammar
School was carried to next meeting en motion Councilman Yarborough,
seconded Councilman. Davidson.
The bid of Martin & Chapman to furnish the election supplies to the
Cit;,t for the April 12, 1960 election, at a cost of ~;,266.~5, plus
additional charge if measure is submitted vaas approved on motion
Councilman McAdams, seconded Councilman Yarborough.
Letter of appreciation received from Railroad Historical Society.
Counci]man McAdams asked that the people bare ?~rith the City, while
the streets from Silver to Spring are oiled on Thursday. Cross streets
will be open for travel,
'Nta;,ror Bartlett reported that no action will be taken until written
reply from State Board. of Health.
Max Ruditz then read a message to the people, stating that the City
should not,be run by political pressure groups, and if necessary,
contact Governor & P.ttorney General to intercede,
Louis Snyder then stated that call from son indicates that cormnittee
will be here in two r*eeks to investigate the water situation in City,
"' Councilman Yarborough then stated that some are pleased with the water,
and some displeased. Taxpayers should be given. consideration, Udill
try to stay within the law, and try to give people the water they
require in a legimate, lair and equii;able manner. Council pleaded with
board for an extension of time to remedy the situation, no reply;;. Will
spend this creek o,orking out plans to satisfy everyone.
NIr. Goldman ~'tated that daughter had drank mineral water from Z:e through
high school years, good teeth. Was order from Health Dept. directive or
legislative act. Majority of people want. the mineral iaater.
E. Perrett demanded to know if council would comply ?with law and the
ruling of the State Board of Health, was told this was an adjourned
meeting for purpose of unfinished business.
Mr. Ellish stated. that he was sick for the twn ~~rears other ?rater was

' On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Macy, the meeting
adjourned at 8:10 F. NI.
