COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 8, 19$9 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on June 8, 1959 at 7:45 Pm. with Mayor Bartlett presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Davidson. Roll call found all five councilmen present. The minutes of May 25 $~ May 26 were approved as read, and the Planning Commission minutes of June !y were accepted and ordered filed. Correspondence read was from Glo-Fire Inc., the Sonial Security Administration, the Post Office Dept., and the Calif. Legislature. A resolution of intentio ~s~ead in regard to closing Langstaff St. - from Minthorn St. N, to the R,R, right of way and the alley from Poe St. S.E. to the R,R, right of way, Juns 22 at 8:00 P,M, was the time set for the Public Hearing. This carried on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidson. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough, carried, the Mayor and Councilman Yarborough will attend tha League of Cities meeting in Palm Springs on June 18. Warrants audited by the committee were approved and orelered paid, on motidn Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidson. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman McAdams, the Clerk's & Treasurer's reports for May were accepted and @rdered filed. Councilman Macy stated that it took a little over an hour to deliver mineral water & the rates should be increased to cover the cost. Action deferred, He also reported that the pump man was here & would start work on the well on June 9, cleaning it out. Councilman Davidson inquired about the street light for Mr. Snyder on Adobe St. Councilman McAdams stated that he would look into it, and instruct the Power Co. to move the pole. Mr. Savage requested that something be done to water the trees on Lakeshore Dr. State not prepared to pay meter installation charge or domestic rate. Councilmen Macy & Yarborough to meet with him to make arrangements to water said trees. FYre Ch~~f Boontjer spoke about his request for X1200 in his budget for the coming year for alarm radios to be installed in fire crew's homes. Mr. Watson requested that he be given the assistance of another man during the month of June for Trash Pickup Month. He suggested that he spend Tues. & Fri. on the ~ side of town and Mon. & Thur, on East side, leaving Wed, to pick up brush and trimmings all over town. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough, carried, Mr. Watson to work out satisfactory schedule for pickup and granted ~. an extra man for two weeks. On motion Councilman Macy, seconded Councilman Davidson, the bills of Currie Engineers and A,A, Webb were ordered paid from the Capitol Improvement Fund.
