Adjourned Twieeting of April 1,3th, held on April 17, 1959
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in an adjourned
session of 'the April 13th, meeting, on Friday April 17th, at 2:30
P.I't;, ti°ri'th tlayor Bartlett presiding.
The Pledge of Allegiance tr~,s led by Councilman Davidson.
~ Ro11 Call ti^ras answered by a71 five councilmen.
I~ On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidson, the
nLinutes of t~pril 13 were held to.next regular meeting.
Bids were then opened from Hodges Ford and Lakeside Chevrolet on
replacing the police car. They vrere, Hodges Ford ~e936.50 plus
tax, optional heater & defroster ~4g•10. Lakeside Chevrolet wS853.1+4,
optional heaterv~37.35. Action on the bids was held to a later date.
Eugene Vandermark~s request for his 'two weeks vacation pay was granted
on motion CounciLnan Davidson, seconded Councilman aacy, carried.
Sohn IJoodside's vacation request ti°zas denied on motion CouncS.Lnan
P;acy, seconded Gocu2cilman Davidson, carried.
Councilman I;cAdams reported on having talked to the merchants on
the west side of FSain in regard to having two way traffic in the
alley behind them. Un motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Council-
man h:lcAdams, it was agreed to leave the al~.ey with one b'aa;,r traffic
soutYibound, and replace the sign at the exit.
On motion Councilman iacAdams, seconded Councilman Davidson; Council-
man Y•:acy ~nas granted permission 'to purchase a six inch water meter
from E.V.t;i•'Jd,D, for approx. wC00.
Un motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman h`:cAdams, Fire
Chief Boontjer eras given permission to have the use of a jeep.
The ambulance service vras discussed, and it was agreed that the
City should investigate the possibility o£ discontinuing this
service.
The question of having horses in to~~an was tabled to next meeting.
Councilman 1~cAdams brought up the question of having a dual line
installed for the m`~neral water. lua.yor Bartlett 'stated that before
anything t~ras done with the mineral uvater, they would wait for a
Supreme Court Decision. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded
Councilman &icAdams, 2^Gr. T~~t2cy I~tmill investigate City wells and report
on their condition.':'
