HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-23-1959 City Council Minutes43 COUDICIL P~flEETING IviARCH 23, 1959 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on t+iarch 23, at 7:3~ Phi, with acting chairman Bartlett presiding, Invocation was delivered by Rev. Johnson, and Councilman Davidson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll ca]1 vas answered by Councilman Davidson and Councilman Bartlett. Nominations were then opened to fill the vacancy created by Cheryl I ~ French's resignation, Councilman Davidson nominated Roy P~'Iacy, ~ Councilman Bartlett seconded,. carried. Roy L~facy was then sworn in by Clerk. Councilman Iy'acy then signed the Oath of Office and Loyalty Oath and bras seated at the table. Nominations were opened to fill the vacancy created by Joe Seitz's resignation, On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman. liacy, carried} T, R, Yarborough nominated. i~Ir. Yarborough was then sworn in by Clerk Kunkle. xe signed the Oath of Office and Logcalt Oath, and was seated at the table, Nominations for Councilman to fill vacancy created by Chon Villa's resignation vrere then opened. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman tiacy, R, L. LlcAdams was nominated, carried, flair. IocAdams was sworn in by Clerk, signed the Oath of Office and Loyalty Oath and ovas seated at the table. Chairman Bartlett declared the council elected. On motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough, Counc:i7rnaii Bartlett be appointed li:ayor. Carried. Carl Kegley t-ras appointed City attorney on motion Councilman DaYd- son, seconded Councilman fllacy, carried, lv?mutes of the 1:-Barth 9th, council meeting were read and approved. A ten minute recess was declared for purpose of signing warrants on motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Couneilrnan Yarborough, carried. Y'larrants audited by the cormaittees on i.`arch 9th, and B~Sarch 23rd, were. approved and ordered paid, Resolution#t972 to authorize signatures at the bank carried unan;mottsly. On motion CounciLnan Yarborough, seconded Councilman Macy, carried, ;'falter Kittle was appointed Chief of Police, and was sworn in by ~ 'I Clerk. April 3rd, 1959, to consider and act upon any or all of the following matters: { 1, Obtaining signs for the City dump. 2, Considering and appointing a Committee to investigate and report back on the trash collection for the City. 3, Considering the reports on the dumping of oil, by stations, in the sewer and acting thereon. 4m Appointing a Committee to investigate and report upon a selection of an Auditor for the City books, 5, Consider and act upon the appointment of Commissioners to the following divisions: (a) Park and Recreation, i t S.r- ~~, (b) Water (c) Streets and Sewers (d) Dept, of Public Safety - Police Commissioner 6, Considering only the pay schedules of City employees but not acting t~ereon. 7, Considering the subject of vacation pay, sick pay and working vacations of City employees, 8, Appointment of a Committee to investigate mineral water. 9, Consider the water situation of the City park. 10 Considering the appointment of a Committeesto investigate and report on the situation coneerxai:hg~r 'the trash and, water collection charges in the City of,~Elsinore.~ Dated: April 2, 1959, ~?~`"/~~- `~ /%"f~~`"~~ ~C~^ ~ ~,~
