of in -kind services for the program.
Publications: The November Issue of the Senior News is available at the Center
and on -line highlighting the programs and services provided in November.
• Trips: The Center took a trip to the Temeku Theater in Temecula as an afternoon
get away. The Walkers took two local walks, one to the Outlet Center and the other
to Canyon Hills Park. In November we will travel to Canterbury Gardens (in
Escondido), Temecula Museum and Harrah's Rincon Casino.
• Nutrition & Events: Our allocation for lunches in October was 506 meals and we
served 524, exceeding our allotment by 18 at a cost of $94.86. We catered our
Halloween Party for 48 patrons. We will not be subsidizing meals on a daily basis
in November & December, but we will cover the cost for any overages for our
Thanksgiving and Christmas Meals.
Programs: The Halloween party was full with a catered lunch, costume contest,
games & door prizes. Thanks to a generous donation by our local pumpkin patch,
we were able to send a pumpkin home with each of the seniors. This month
featured Healthcare Information as we approach Open Enrollment for Medicare.
We had a HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program) information
program, counseling sessions and enrollment clinics provided for the patrons. We
also had ten companies that serve the area make presentations about their
products. In addition, we also had an Asthma & lung capacity screening, C -Tap
Presentation, Asthma Information Program, Crazy Karaoke Day and Hypnosis
Information Program.
Fundraisers: Rae Ann Provided Haircuts to 15, for a net of $105. We also collected
$224 toward the Halloween Program expenses and $85 for computer classes.

The crew helped to create a firebreak on a parcel in the City
that was overgrown. The crew spent one week cutting trees
and weeds to clear the property to the 1265' elevation point.
The City had West Coast Arborists trim trees along the 115
freeway in order to create more visibility to the newly
installed billboard.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS
New equipment was installed at each of the five signals along the Railroad Canyon
Road /Diamond Drive corridor, including two Caltrans traffic signals, to provide Ethernet
communication between the City and State systems. A radio link between these traffic
signals and City Hall will be established in October. This, along with the new computer
server and software installed at City Hall, will provide remote access to the signals along this
corridor to improve intersection operation. A revised signal timing coordination plan is also
being developed that will allow for a more efficient flow of traffic along this corridor during
peak travel times.
