COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 10, 1960
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on
October 10, 1960, and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor
Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. King, and the Pledge of Allegiance
was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found all four councilmen present.
The minutes of Sent. 25 and the Plan. Com. minutes of Oct. 6 were
approved as read.
Hilbert H. Stewart was nominated by Mayor Bartlett for the vacancy
on the council, seconded 8ouncilman Hitt and carried. Mr. Stewart
then sworn in as councilman and seated.
Mrs. Somergrad's complaint concerning loose dogs on Graham Ave. was
discussed, with Mayor Bartlett stating that i£ four persons would
sign a complaint, it could be turned over to the judge.
The Metropolitan tidater District letter and telegram were read, along
with a resolution & letter from the Feather River Asso. On Motion
Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. the Feather
River resolution was approved..
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car., the
Los Angeles Times-Mirror resolution #1029 was adopted, urging attendance
at the Grand Prix Race to be held in Riverside on Oct. 15-16.
Clyde L. Longe's letter inquiring about police protection for his garage
was read and discussed.. He stating that their losses were close to
~a1000. Mayor Bartlett stated that he would look into the matter and
take it up with the Police Dept, to stop these thefts.
The first reading of Ordinance #395, regulating food handlers was
passed on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car.
Resolution 1030, accepting the agreement with Everett A. Phillips,
and authorizing the Mayor to sign same carried on motion Councilman
Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough,
Fesolution 1031, authorizing the annexation of the Sewer Farm property
carried on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Hitt.
4larrants audited by the committee were approved and ordered paid on
motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough,
Mayor Bartlett announced that Lookout St, would soon be graded out &
widened. Also that County would start work on the culvert at Main
& Pottery St. on Oct. 11.
Henry Burton's request for leave o£ absence dinning Nov. & Dec., with
Thomas Slade replacing him eras granted on motion Councilman Yarborough,
seconded Councilman Berry, car.
- On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, the
meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M..
