COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 26, 1960
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular
session on September 26, 1960, and was called to order at
7:30 P.M. with Mayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. King, and the Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found Councilman Yarborough absent, Councilmen
Berry, Hitt and Bartlett present.
The minutes of the Sept. 12 council meeting and the Plan.
Com. minutes of Sept. 22, were approved as read.
On motion Mayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman Berry and
carried, the clerk to draw up ordinance for the regulation
of food handlers, to be presented at the next meeting.
Announcements of meetings with the Farm-City Week Committee,
Citrus Belt Div. League of Calif. Cities, and the Institute
of Public Affairs at Pomona College, were read, with no action
being taken.
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt, carried,
the Church of the Nazarine was granted permission to use
the bandstand in the City Park on Oct. 9 , 1960, for the
presentation of a musical program.
The amended temporary permit, granted by the State Board of
Public Health on September 16, 1960, was accepted on Motion
Mayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman Berry, carried.
Notice of bottled water rate increase for individual homes
being served by the City, from 78y to $1.00, from the Whitney
Drinking Water Service was read and accepted on motion
Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt, carried.
Councilman Berry reported on the progress of the hiring
of a qualified water works engineer, stating that a former
teacher at the Por.~ na College was working otr the report
for the state, and that things were looking up.
The request of Dixie Stark for permission to build on a
50' X:90' lot in Lakepark Tract, was granted on motion
Mayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman Berry, carried.
The meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M. on motion Councilman
Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt.
