HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-18-1960 City Council Minutes~~7 COIINCIL MELTING APRZL 19~ 1960 The City Council of the~City of Elsinore met in regular session on ,,,,~; April 18, 1960, and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor Bartlett presiding. Invocation was delivered by Rev. Easter, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Davidson, ' ..Roll call found all five councilmen present, The minutes of April 1~, 1960 were approved as read, The Library Board minutes of April 7 were accepted, Bids for the Library Addition were read with action being deferred to next regular meeting, May 2nd,, on motion Councilman Macy, seconded Gouncilman Davidson, car. On motion Councilman Macy, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. the Council & Clerk to attend Ttrln Counties Press Club speaker, Attorney General Mosk speak on the Brown Act on April 22, 1960. On motion Councilman Macy, seconded Councilman McAdams, the Sheriff's & Bldg, Inspector lease was accepted. carried. The Citrus Belt League of Calif. Cities meeting on April 29 was read.. On motion Gouncilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidson, The Council & Clerk to attend if possible, carried. On motion Councilman Macy, seconded Councilman McAdams, Doris Green's resignation was accepted as of May 1st. Resolution 1016 reprimanding Investigator Joel Taylor passed on motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough. Letter, Photostat of purchase order & map from the Crowley Co., stating that Hungerford and Terry did build the defluoridation plant at Bartlett Texas was read. Attorney Kegley'spo&e briefly on the meeting held in L.A, with Mr. 'Maier and others of the health department. On motion Councilman Macy, seconded Councilman McAdams, the above correspondence from Crowley Cc. to be f].led, carried. Warrants audited by the committee were approved & ordere3apaid on motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough. The Clerk & Treasurer's reports for March were accepted on motion Councilman Davidson, seconded Councilman Yarborough, carried. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Macy, Resolution 1017 expressing confidence in Councilman Davidson was passed unanimously. Applications for th.e Sob being vacated by Dmri.s Green were read, with a decision being held to an adjourned meeting at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 21, 1960, on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman ~! McAdams. On motion Councilman Davidson seconded Councilman Yarborough, the salary for said pgsition was-set at ;p2 r0 per month, car. Councilman Yarborough reported that barbeque at N. Park was completed. Councilman. McAdams reported that grading on Ellis St. had been done, but more work remained to be completed. Councilman Macy reported that the submersible. pump would be installed on 1/19 or 4/20. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Davidson, Attorney , Kegley to attend Health Board meeting in Berkeley on April 22, 1950. car 13 Attorney Kegley reported that the City has no means by which to oppose the rate increase of the So. Calif. Gas Co. Attorney Kegley'''bill for the period of Dec. ]., 1959 to Dec, v3, 195, in the amount of $56$ for 284 hrs. was read.
