The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on
December 26, 1961, and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor
Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by John Merrifield and the Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found all five counci]men prosent.
The minutes of December 11 were approved as read, and the Planning
Commission minutes of Dec. 19 here accepted & ordered filed.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, the
warrants were approved and ordered paid.
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, the
clerks & treasurert~. reports for November were accepted.
Elmer Jackson's letter to Plan. Com. to be referred to Building
Inspector to determine if there is access to property and a probable
water supply.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, Ordinance
#31+9 to be amended transferring Elsinore Heights Tract #5 from an
R-1 zone to an R~1A Zone, car.
Chief Bittle~s request for a new police ear was discussed. On motion
Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough~.City to buy a new
car for Police Dept. on bids, and retain old ear for city use..
Passed on the following. roll. call vote:
.Ayes: Stewart, Yarborough, Berry, Hitt
Noes: Bartlett
Supervisor Jones being present asked that the City close the 1S~S300
alley which .adjoins the property for the proposed county building. .,
Referred to Planning Commission..
John Merrifield then spoke on the new business license tax and asked
that the council co-operate with the businessmen. Was told that the
businessmen had had their period Por objections and suggestions last
summer, and none had come. forth at that time, so ordinance was adopted
and would go into .effect as stated.
Councilman, Yarborough requested that he be allowed to go to Riverside
and obtain prices on 11~ benches for the parks. Permission granted on
motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car.
Councilman Berry inquired if it is up to the city to maintain the
Warm Springs Creek bed. Will be investigated further.

Mr. Kanowitz inquired as to the necessity for securing a license to
sell. poultry and eggs in the city.
No' further business appearing, the meeting adjourned
