The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in an adjourned
session on September 29, 1961, and was called to order at
7:30 P.M. with~Mayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Councilman Yarborough, and the
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found Councilmen Stewart, Yarborough, Berry and
Bartlett present, Councilman Hitt absent.
The Civil Defense outline as prepared by Sheriff Joe Rice
was discussed Joe Seitz once again stressed the need for
a reserve police force,. and for the public to be informed.
The need for community shelters and self protection was
discussed.
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough,
and carried, Resolution #1061, accepting Joe Ricers program
passed.
Mr. George Ely, Retired U.S. Army, volunteered to help with a
C.D, program in anyway possible.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car.
the transfer of $8,635.77 from the Capitol Improvement Fund to
the Water Fund to reimburse for overcharges on the power and for
2000 of pipe was authorized.
The removal of a palm tree from the city yard was discussed,
with action being held to next meeting.
No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
