COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 26, 1961
The City Council of the Gity of Elsinore met in regular session
on June 26, 1961 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor
Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Councilman Hitt, and the Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call. found all five councilmen present.
The minutes of June 12 & lsth. were approved as read, and the
Planning Commission minutes mf June 22 were accepted on motion
Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car.
Warranty audited by the committee were approved and ordered paid
on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car.
The Clerk''s'& Treasurer's rsgorts for May were accepted on motion
Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry car.
Mayor Bartlett, Councilmen Berra & Yarborough and Clerk to attend
Mayor's and Councilmen's Conference on June 28 in Beaumont.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Counci]raan Stewart, car.
the City to accept-the relinquishment of one room from the
Sheriff" a 11ept until such time as their new building is ready.
Jeanette Martin was appointed Deputy City Clerk on motion Councilman
Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry and car. Mrs. Martin to be
bonded.
A budget moeting to be held on Thursday, June 29 at 7:00 P.M.
Mayor Bartlet"t 'requested that the Clerk be instructed to write
the L1tt1e League Chairman and request that a lock be placed on
the switch box at the ball park to prevent the lights from being
turned oa and left.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car.
Henry Washington granted the payment of his vacation pay.
Councilmen Yarborough and Hitt to make a sidewalk surrey of the
city and notify owners to repair.
Mayor Bartlett reported on the current news from the health
department relating to the taking of water tests.
Morris Kominsky and Mrs. Ousaie Kaminsky inquired ae to the type
water being supplied to consumers.
Mra. Goldie-Barks requested the use of the City Park for band
concerts during the. summer months. Was told the Park would be
available at most times for entertainment. Mra. Burks to advise
Council as to what nights their organization would use park.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Hitt, the
meeting adjourned.,
