HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-22-1961 City Council MinutesCOUNCIL MEETING MAY 22, 1961 The Gity Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on May 22~r1961, and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor. Bartlett presiding. Invocation was delivered by Rev. Schmitt, and the Pledge of Allegiance. was lid by Councilman Berry. Roll call found.Gouncilmen Stewart, Yarborough, Berry and Bartlett present. Councilman Hitt absent. Attorney Jacobson also in attendance. The minutes of May 8 were approved as read, and the Planning Commission minutes of May 18th were accepted. The clerk's & treasurer's reports for April were accepted on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. The amount of X2,500 was aut2iorized transfered from the Park °kland to the Water 'Fund to reimburse for pipeline on motion Councilman Herry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. Warrants audited by the committee were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car. On motion Councilman Berra, seconded Councilman Yarborough, the week of June ~-11 was proclaimed "City of Hope" Week. car. Charles Ray request to rsceivee' vacation pay was granted on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. Resolution #1051, re. the Norco hospital passed on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. Ordinance #397 was read for the first time, re. the drilling of private wells. Gordon Hunt protested the passing of this ordinance. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Conncilman Stewart, ordinance tabled for further study. ear. The first reading of Ordinance #398, providing a penalty for the removal of health grading signs in food establishments, passed on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. .. Ordinance #399 on business licenses was read for the first time. Motion for it's passage by M~}yor Bartlett dyed for the want 'of a second. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman_Yarborough, ordinance. held to adjourned meeting on May 26 at 7s00 P.M. for further study. car. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Herry, i the request of the Independent Church on Kellogg for an increase iai the street light between Scanner and Pottery was granted, car. Mayor Bartlett reported that the street work on Chaney & Sumner. was progressing nicely.
