HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-08-1962 City Council Minutes2~9 COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1962 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on October 8, 1962, and was called to order at 7:30 P.M with Mayor Bartlett presiding. ' Invocation was delivered by Councilman Yarborough and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found all five councilmen present, City Administrator Guler, Attorney -ougherty, Engineer Philips also in attendance, The minutes of Sept. 2ti were approved as read, The Planning Commission minutes of October 2 were also approved as read. Warrants were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. The Mayors & Councilmen~s Conference in Corona on Oct. 18th to be attended by six on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. City Administrator Guler, Engineer Crane and Councilman Berry to attend the San Diego meeting on public works on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded_Councilman Stewart to be held Oct. 10, On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, all who can to attend the League of California Cities convention in Los Angeles, October 21-2Lt. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, the carnival fees for the Jaycees carnival on Nov, 8-11 were waived. The request of Karl Huber for a business license to operate a second hand store at 1100 W. Graham Ave. was denied on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, after the opinion from the attorney was read, Gail Anderson from the California Electric Power Co, was present and presented the Council with his company~s proposal for bringing the cities lighting system up to date. Council to study. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, October 29th was the date set for a special council meeting for the holding of a public hearing on Planning Corrunission Resolution ~1, Mr. Albert Webb and Everett Fhilips answered various questions on the proposed water rehabilitation plans, On motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry, S, J. Goldman granted a refund on his rental license in the amount of X66,75. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, Councilman Yarborough granted permission to bring Mohr and Oleander Streets to grade at his own expense, Several inquiries from the public on the status of the water were answered by the council'.
