HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-23-1962 City Council MinutesCOUNCIL MEETING JULY 23, 1962 X87 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on July 23, 1962 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor Pro Tem Yarborough presiding. Invocation was delivered by Rev. Wagner and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found Mayor Bartlett absent. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, Mayor Bartlett's absence excused due to the nature of his illness. The minutes of July 9th were approved as read and the Planning Commission minutes of July 17th were read and discussed. Warrants audited by the committee were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry,-seconded Councilman Stewart. " The clerks report for June was approved on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt, car. This being the time for the public hearing on the vacating of the alley in Block 15, Original Townsite of Elsinore, and there being no objections, Resolution #108l~ declaring the vacation was adopted on motion Counc~i n Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. John Munoa's request for a permanent parking place for the etnb{ilance at the cornor of Main and Graham was approved on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman_Berry, car, with space to be so marked. Ordinance !t0l~, declaring a flood zone in the city was held for further study. Resolution :1085, fixing the budget for the fiscal year 1962/63 was approved on motion Councilman. Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. Resolution 1086, setting the taa rate for the 1962/63 fiscal year, carried on motion. Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart. City Treasurer Scott's request for permission to leave the state for the month of August, was approved on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt. --`` Edwin Wied's request for annual vacation was granted on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry. Mr. Stevens complaint on loose animals was referred to Councilman Hitt & Stewart for study. The insurance premium of $2,031 to be paid on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt and carried, with Mr. Ballard to be invited to attend the August 13th meeting and,give a report of the insurance conditions of the town.
