HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-09-1962 City Council Minutes285 COUNCIL MEETING JULY 9, 1962 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on July 9, 1962 and was called to order at 7:30, with Mayor Pro Tem Yarborough presiding. Invocation was delivered by Mr. Yarborough and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found Mayor Bartlett absent. Attorney Dougherty and Everett Philips also in attendance. Warrants were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. The minutes of June 25th were approved as read,-and the Planning Commission minutes of June 26th and July 3rd were read and discussed. Mr. Bulot of Stone and Youngberg discussed with the council the possible bond issues for the financing of water & sewer improvements. More details to be given later. July 31st and August 7th were the dates set for the public hearings on the proposed water plan in the Grammar School-auditorium before the Planning Commission on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. On motion -0ouncilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, Mrs. Velma Smith was granted a variance to bldg, on Lot 27, block 13 so long as building code is met. Correspondence xead was from the Mayor's & Councilmen's conference, notice of public hearing on Elsinore Ready Mix, Comici7man Yarborough to attends three to attend League of Calif. Cities dinner on July 19th at Sun City. Mrs. Weissend's requ®st for street work was referred to Councilman Hitt. Mrs. Sokol's request for street light was referred to Power Company. The request of Murray's Supply for relief on their business license was discussed with decision to uphold ordinance decided upon. Resolution 1080 re. vacation of alley for county building site and setting public hearing carried on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart. Resolution 1081, setting annexation public hearing carried on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart. Resolution 1082, authorizing T. R, Yarborough's signature on bank accounts carried on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt. Resolution 1083, establishing salary & wage schedule for the 1962/63 fiscal year, carried on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart. Mr. Anderson's request for lt000' of 6" transits pipe was granted on motion Councilman ferry, seconded Councilman Hitt. Patrolman Clinkingbeard's request for vacation was approved on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt. fihe Police Dept. report for June was read and accepted. A budget meeting was scheduled for July 16th at 7:30 P.M.
