^t he City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on
April 23, 1962 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor
Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. Durham and the Pledge of Allegiance
was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found Councilman Hitt absent.
The minutes of April 9th & April 17th were approved as read, and
the Planning Commission minutes of April 17th were accepted.
The warrants were approved & ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry,
seconded Councilman Stewart, car:
The clerk's & treasurer's reports were accepted as read on motion
Councilman Herry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car.
Attorney Dougherty's letter regarding possible aid on the financing
of water & sewer improvements was referred to the Planning Commission
on motion .Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car.
Communications read from County re, increase of cost for prisoners
in county 3ai1 and from the Calaveras County Jumping Frog committee.
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car, Council
and Plan. Commission to attend public hearing on proposed sewer plant
installation on Newport Road.
Mayor Bartlett's Proc3amation on Public Schools Week was read and
approved.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, the
Sheriff's Dept, granted used of Ball Park May 17th for Police Week
display.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, the
City to purchase an ad in the Laguna Revue for the dedication of
the State Park, car.
Resolution 1076, re, purchassng on county contract carried on motion
Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry.
On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, clerk to
insert notice in newspaper for property owners to repair sidewalks.
Councilman Stewart suggested that old requests for var3~nffs items be
reviewed.
Walter Swick being present, invited the council to be present at the
dedication of the. new little league field on May 4th.
Rev. Durham requested permission to erect a directional sign to the
Christian Church on Poe & Graham. Referred to Planning Commission.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, the
meeting ad3ourned at 8:40 P.M, to April 30 at 7:30 P.M~I.~
