HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-09-1962 City Council MinutesCUUNCIL MEETING APRIL 9, 1962 The City Couxicil of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on April 9, 1962 and was called to order at 7:3U P.M. with Mayor Bartlett presiding. Invocation was delivered by Rev. Durham, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found all five councilmen present. The minutes of March 26 were approved as read, and the minutes of March 29 were corrected to read motor overhaul- and approved. The Planning Commission minutes of April 3 were accepted as read. Warrants audited by the committee were approved & ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart. A letter Prom the Recreation Commission was read requesting permission to construct a storage & concession bldg, at the little league field. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, request granted. Mr. Swick, Recreatioxi Director, being present, asked the Council to approve the estimate of X2,828. for the lighting of the secomd ball field. Granted on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. 265 The ballpark restrooms to be cleaned up and lighted on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car. On motion Councilman %arborough, seconded Councilman Berry, the request of the Brock Construction Company and M. L. Harrison, owner, for a variance on Lot 18, Block 61, Hazards Resubdivision was granted. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, Councilman Hitt granted permission to leave the state for approximately 30 days. The police department report for March was read. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Hitt, $2,500 to be transfered from the Capital Impvt. Fund to the Sewer Service Fbnd. car. Un motion Councilman Berry seconded Councilman Yarborough, X2,500 to be transfered from the ~apital improvement lend to the Eqpt. F!utad, On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, the officers on extra duty election day to be paid overtime, car. Mayor Bartlett made a public statement concerning some of the statements made in the political campaigns.
