COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 13, 1962
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session
on February 13, 1962 and was called to order at 7:30 P,M. with
Mayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. King, and the Pledge of Allegiance
was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found all. five councilmen present.
Warrants audited by the committee were approved and ordered paid on
~- motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car.
The minutes of January 22 and February 5 were approved as read, and
the Planning Commission minutes of February 6 were accepted.
Two resolutions from the Board of Supervisors concerning City-County
meetings and the opening of Lake Mathews and the Public Health Dept.
letter ccnfirming the Feb. 27th meeting were read.
Raymond Robertson~s request for a junk yard license at 311 Minthorn
St. was approved on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman
Stewart.
Mrs, Wilson~s request for relief on hex business license was taken
under consideration, as was Millers request for street repairs on
Rancho, Mrs. Bakers request for Kellogg St. improvement, and a
street light request on Ellis.
The Baptist Church statement for X50.00 for the merry-go-round
was discussed, with it being agreed to returnmerry-go-round to Church.
The clerks request to work vacation time and draw compensation was
approv®d on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Hitt.
On motion Couneilxnan Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry, Ernest
Johnson~s salary set at $li00 per month while Mr. Anderson is off.,Car.
On motion Counci.]man Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart
all overtime previously paid in the police department was approved.
On motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry, no overtime
to be paid in police department after February 15, 1962., car.
On motion Mayor Bartlett, seconded Councilman Berry, X260 to be
expended from Park Fund for the construction of a pistol range north
of the City Dump.
Gordon Harrison being present, presented a film and gave a short
talk on the forthcoming bond election for the schools. He asked that
the Council endorse the issue and was told that it was not the policy
of an elected body to endorse such issues by Mayor Bartlett.
George Rodgers expressed the wish that the leash law be enforced.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, se onded Councilman Stewart, the
meeting adjourned at 10:00 P,M
