HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-12-1963 City Council Minutes369 COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 12, 1963 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on Nov. 12, 1963 and was called to order at 7:$0 P.M. with Mayor Bartlett presiding. Invocation was delivered by Councilman Yarborough and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found all five councilmen present. City Administrator Guler also in attendance. The minutes of October 28 .and October 29 were approved as read. Warrants were approved 6 ordered paid on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. The resignation of Roger Mayhail from the Planning Commission was accepted with deep regrets on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry,car. The transfer of ABC license at the Playhouse was approved on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry, car. City Administrator Guler to study State Park proposal for dumping of sewage and water rate acid report to Council. The Dili. of Beaches & Parks agreement to be studies by Council E Attorney. John Merrifield presented a map 8 discussed the proposed high school site with the Council. The Council expressed their concern 8 appreciation for the time spent in presenting this idea. Ordinance #413, carried on the second reading for the closing of Poe St., on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car. Ordinance #414, re. hold harmless clause in business license ordinance, carried on the second reading on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. City Attorney to take necessary action to pursue the condemnation of Or. Anderson's property at 1100 W. Graham Avenue. The D.A.V. request to sell forget-me-nots-during the Diamond Jubilee was referred to D.J. committee. Solicitor fee waived on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. The Business License fee fora carnival 6u ring the Diamond Jubilee was waived on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car. The petition filed by Elm Street property owners, requesting biacktopping of Elm St. was received 6. filed for consideration in the next budget session. Mayor Bartlett presented an agreement between the City of Elsinore and Jay V. Guler for the period Dec. 1, 1963 to Dec. i, 1966, as City Manager, at a minimum salary of $1,000 per month, agreement to be reviewed each year, agreement approved subject to Mr. Guler!s acceptance on motion Councii- man Stewart, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. Randolph Daniel of 8g Morton Ave. requested information concerhing the wrecking yard on Railroad Ave. City Administrator to investigate.
