HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-28-1963 City Council MinutesX65 Council Meeting October 28, 1963 The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on October 28, 1963 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor Bartlett presiding. Invocation was delivered by Rev. Horton and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found Councilman Hitt absent. City Attorney Dougherty and Bity Administrator Guler also in attendance. The minutes of October 14 were approved as read. Warrants were approved s ordered paid on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car. The Julys August clerks and treasurers reports were approved on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. Earl R' Obern was appointed as an unofficial honorary representative of the City of Elsinore on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. City Administrator Guler to negotiate with Bernard Weiss on the removal of dirt from Mt. View Ave. on motion Councilman Berry, seconddd Councilman Yarborough, car. Mr. Leo LaSalle's inquiry regarding the skating rink to be handled by City Administrator Guler. Attendance of the League of Calif. Cities meeting in Chino on Nov. 13 approved. Jerry Gilbertson being present, spoke about the Diamond Jubilee and aspects of returns. On motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry, w r. $3,000, to be transfered to Chamber of Commerce Diamond Jubilee Fund for further advertising. On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car., the request of Caryl Spear for grade stakes across his property at 1112 W. Graham Ave., approved. Ordinance #413, re. Poe St. closing through school grounds carried on the first reading on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart. The realignment of Riley St. carried to December 9th meeting. The request for ABC license at Sportsmen's, carried on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. Ordinance #414, re. hold harmless clause in Business License Ord. carried on the first reading on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. The application of Mary Hartz fora card room license at the B68 Hotel was discussed. On motion Councilman Berry, seconded Mayor Bartlett, John Merrill, hold of present license to receive ten day notice of revokation, City Attorhey Dougherty to take care of necessary details, car. Reports were given on the various phases of the League of Calif. Cities convention held in San Francisco. Council to look into possibility of installing a street light in North Park.
