Council Meeting May 13, 1963
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on
May 13 1963 and was called to order at 7:3U P.M. with Mayor Bartlett
presiding. -
Invocation was delivered by Councilman Yarborough and the Pledge of
Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found Councilman Hitt absent. City Administrator Guler
also in attendance.
The minutes of April 22, 1963 were approved as read. The Planning
Commission minutes of April 16 were accepted and filed. On motion
rt - Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, $10 approved for
secretary's expense. On motion duly made and seconded, Nate Schulman
reappointed to Planning Commission for a four year term. City
Administrator to investigate possibility of cutting Flint Street
through to Kellogg.
Warrants were approved & ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry,
seconded Councilman Yarborough.
The March Clerks and Treasurers reports were accepted on motion
Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart.
Letter of appreciation read from the Hebrew Congregation. Mr. Wm,
Brown's inquiry re. a variance referred to Plan. Com. Colonel
Pfeiffer's invitation to attend open house at March Field on May 18th
read, followed by the Mayor's Proclamation for Armed Forces Day, May 18th.
City Administrator Guler to contact Power Co. re, a street light on
Lakeshore Drive by skating rink & ball field. On motion Councilman
Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, Lakeshore Drive from Snri,ng St,
to Poe, declared a 15 mph zone.
The County Clerk's notice re. filing of a petition to incorporate
"Lakeland" read. The Planning Commissions's suggestion to invite
representatives from the different areas surrounding the lake to attend
meetings read. All meetings are public meetings and anyone who is
interested may attend. Interested people from Lakeland, Sedco or any
surrounding area are cordially invited.
The Mayor's Proclamation for Poppy Days May 21~th and 25th was read, with
flags to be displayed on both days, providing the Veterans will supply
the necessary manpower for Poppy Days.
City Administrator Guler's recommendation for the purchase of a new
police unit from Lakeside Chevrolet and the transfer of present unit
to Dept, of Public Works carried on an unanimous roll call vote on
motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Berry.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car,,
Currie Eng, agreement as Engineers for the City of Elsinore accepted.
City Administrator Guler to negotiate with Mr. Edgar Parks for the
treating of the sewer trunk lines with a bioorganic process,
Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, Ordinance
#409 read by title only.
Ordinance #lt09 was accepted on the first reading by an unanimous roll
call vote on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough.
Resolution #1105 re, purchase of surplus property carried on an
unanimous roll call vote on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded
Councilman Berry.

Annexation #6 carried .on an unanimous roll call vote on motion
Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough.
The California Electric Power Co. request for an anchor easement
on Lot 11, Block 15, was granted on motion Councilman Berry,
secgnded,Councilman Yarborough and unanimously carried.
No further business appearing, the meeting. adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
