HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-26-1964 City Council Minutes431 COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 26, 1964 ~,The,City Copncil of the City of Elsinore met in 'regular session on October 26, 1964 and was called to order at 7:30 P,M. with Mayor Bartlett presiding. ' Invocation was delivered 6y Councilman Yarborough and fhe Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilman Berry. Roll call found all five councilmen present.- Attorney Dougherty and City Manager Guler also in attendance. The minutes of October 12 and October 15 were .approved es read. Warrants were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. The clerks ~ treasurers reports for Sept., 1964 were accepted on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. Motion Councilman DePasquale, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car., no action taken on the grading and widening of East Hill Street in the 400 block until water line installation is completed. Plan. Commission memo on rezoning of south side of Railroad Ave. read for information of council as public hearing to be held on Oec. 1st. Planning Commission memo re. Joosten property read and discussed, City Attorney advised all annexed property is R~1 except for all existing non-conforming uses. Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale, car., a barricade to be placed at the east end of Parkway denoting dead-end street. Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale, car.,. Attorney Dougherty to make a preliminary check on the costs involved in obtaindng data on abandoned Santa Fe property. The Planning Commission's recommendation for the abandonment of Acacia St. tabled on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. The Mayor's proclamation of Farm-City week, Nov, 20-26 was read B approved. Resolution #1144, re. restoration of the bracero program carried on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale. Ord. #424, re. rezoning of West Graham Ave. carried on the first reading on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale. Ord.l #425, re. amending of dance ordinance, carried on the first reading on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough. The request of the So. Calif. Edison Co. fora franchise carried over. Progress on the Lake Elsinore Hotel demolition reported on, no action taken. Notice to proceed on water projects read, as was the report that work is underway on the demolition of Dr. Anderson's property. New street sweeper received and dump report to be made by Councilmen Stewart S Yarborough. Attorney Dougherty to check the Santa Fe Parking lot agreement and report to council, also to investigate the Wilsey, Ham S Blair agreement. Currie Eng. Co. change order #1 read and forwarded. Discussion on Christmas decorations came up and will be looked into by John Merrifield. City Manager to look into proposed ambulance franchise 4~~ Members of Mr. Peytan's government class were recognized. by the council for their attendance at the 'council meeting..
