HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-15-1964 Adjourned City Council MinutesADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 15, 1964 42~ The City Council of the City. of Elsinore met in an adjourned session on October 15, 1964 and was called to order at 2:40 P.M. with Mayor Bartlett presiding. Roll call found Councilman Stewart absent. City Manager Guler also in attendance. The minutes of September's dlOctober 8 were approved as read. Warrants were approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car. The Mayor's 8 Councilmen's Conference Yn Desert Hot Springs, October 29 to be attended by all who can. William Miller letter to be acknowledged by City Manager. City will lay pipe when purchased by property owners. An ad for the Regatta program approved on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale, car., subject to attorney's approval. Motion Councilman DePasquale, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car., that city attorney together with .the firm of Wilsey, Ham 8 Blair, Planning Cpmsultants to draw agreement for preparation of a general plan for the city. Housing 8 Home Finance Agency telegram read, authorizing the awarding of contractato low bidder. Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, car., City Treasurer authorized to deposit $18,000. in water systems construction account. Motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough and unanimously carried, that the contracts in reference to the water systems of the City of Elsinore, California, being project #PFL-CALIF-55 (157) be awarded to the low bidder, to wit, Sanitary Pipeline Co., Inc., 17663 Jacquelyn, Huntington Beach, California, based on their low bids of $96,500 with Alternate I on the mineral water and $256,216.80 on the domestic distribution fora total of $352,716.80, subject to the bidders complying with all terms and conditions as may be required by the City of Elsinore, Currie Engineering Co., Swarner, Fitzgerald 6 Dougherty Bond Counselors and Housing and Nome Finance Agency and subject to the execution of any and all contracts and documents that may be required by the said City of Elsinore and Housing and Nome Finance Agency and further subject to the posting of any and all bonds and insurance that may be required by the City of Elsinore and Housing and Nome Finance Agency. That the City Manager of the City of Elsinore is authorized to execute any and all contracts and documents on behalf of the City of Elsinore and to do ail other things as may be necessary to complete said projects. S.J. Goldman's letter to be acknowledged by City Clerk that Dr. Anderson has taken no action to comply with the Notice to Demolish and council allowed until council meeting of October 26, 1964 for the Goldmans to do what they propose. Councilman Stewart's request to leave the state granted on motion Council- man DePasquale, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car. Letter of commendation on Mr. Crayton's care of the city park from Mr. Zatman read for information of council. Installation of a street light on N. Scrivener between Pottery and Flint authorized on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale, ca r. fir. Chamberlain, Mr. Machai and Mr. Borie inquired about the progress being made on the demolition of the Lake Elsinore Hotel. Informed by Mayor Bartlett that the matter was in the hands of the attorney. Mr. Borie also requested that 308-314 N. Main St. be checked as to the condition.
