COUNCIL MEETING JULY 13, 1964
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on
July 13, 1964 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M; with Mayor Bartlett
presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. Nevaburn and the Pledge of Allegiance was
led b}~ Councilman Berry.
Roll call found all five councilmen present. Attorney Dougherty and
City Manager Guler alsc in attendance.
The minutes of June 22 and June 29 were approved as read.
Warrants vrere approved and ordered paid on motion Councilman Stewart, seconded
Councilman Yarborough, car.
The cler!<s & treasurers reports for June, 1964~.vere accepted on motion
Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Stewart, car.
Thank you note from Mrs. Baci<strand read for information of council and
Citrus Belt League of California Cities notice of July 22 meeting in
Riverside read, with all vaho can to attend.
The Planning Commission recommendation to grant Mrs. Scott a ~~ariance at
215 N. Silver St. trurned over to City Attorney for study and recommendation.
Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, car,, Planning
Commission recommendation. for increase in filing fees for rezenings and
variances to be studied at meeting of ?/21/64.
Motion Councilman Yarboro!~gh, seconded Councilman DePasquale, car., the Dump
Agreement with the County of Riverside was renem~ed for another year.
Motion Councilman DePasouale, seconded Councilman Stewart, car., the City•-
County Teletype Agreement was renevaed for ancther year.
City Manager' Guler's study of the proposed public parking lot between
Sulphur ~ Limited Streets was presented to the Council. Motion Councilman
Berry, seconded Councilman DePasquale, City Manager Guter to proceed with
necessary negotiations with Santa Fe Railway Co, and necessary work, car.
Ordinance #427_, re. Occupancy Room Tax, read by title only on second reading
on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman DePasquale, car. Ord. #422
adopted on second reading on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded
Councilman Stewart, car.
Resolution #1136 was read to the council; Rita Burney presented petitions
to the Council, which were accepted and filed, on behalf of Walter Bittle's
re-instatement request. After discussion, Resolution #1136 was put to vote
on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry and defeated by
the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Yarborough, Berryc
Noes: Councilmen Stewart, Bartlett, DePasquale
Motion Councilman DePasquale, seconded Councilman Berry, car., letter of
condolence to be sent to Mrs. Lucile Goulart on the recent loss of her
husband.
Councilman DePasquale gave a repo r± on budget item calling for $10,000
community recreation building in city park and also had a copy of the
mirn.rtes of 51?_6/48 special council meeting read in regard to several west
side streets.
The meeting adjourned at g:30 P;M.
