COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 8, 1964
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on June 8,
1964 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered bar Rev. Davis and the Pledge of Allegiance was
led by Councilman Berry.
Roll call found all five councilmen present. Attorney Dougherty and City
Manager Guler also $n attendance.
The minutes of May 25th were read and corrected to show that the minutes
of May 18th were also read and approved at that meeting.
The clerk's and treasurer's reports for April, 1964 were approved on
motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman DePasquale, Car.
'' Request of Francis W, Rerrera for street improvement on Dawes St. was
read. Planning Commission to look into and recommend a policy on this
and other paper streets, Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman
DePasquale, Car.
Ordinance #420 establishing water rates had second reading by title only
on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry. Ordinance
#420 was adopted on motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman DePasquale,
Car.
Request of James Fischer of Dor De 1, Inc. to connect to city sewer system
was read. Mr. McGonigle, attorney for Mr. Fischer to draw up proposed
contract for review by City Attorney and City Manager..
Ordinance #421 on rezoning was passed on first reading on motion Councilman
Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart.
On motion Councilman Stewart, seconded Councilman DePasquale, Resolution
#1134 establishing a policy of discretionary and mandatory retirement of
appointive city officials and employees carried on the following roll call
vote:
Ayes: Stewart, Bartlett, DePasquale
Noes: Yarborough, Berry
Planning Commission letter requesting services of City Engineer to obtain
legal descriptions for re-zoning was read.
Planning Commission recommendation on increase of filing fee for zone
changes was referred back to Planning Commission for further study.
Planning Commission recommendation that alley in block 9 (bounded by
Graham, Silver, Lakeshore & Lewis) be abandoned, was tabled for further
study on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Stewart, Car.
Recommendation of Planning Commission that County Ordinance #461 on curbs,
gutters and sidewalks be added to City Ordinance #349 was referred back
to Planning Commission for further study.
All Council members and City Manager to attend Mayors' & Councilmen's
Conference in Palm Springs on June 18.
On motion Councilman DePasquale, seconded Councilman Stewart, Car.,
attorney to draw up ordinance on adoption of Motel, Hotel Occupancy Tax.
On motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry and carried,
the meeting adjourned at 10:P,M. to June 15, 1964 at 7:30 P.M.
