COUNCIL MEETING MAY 25, 1864
The City Council of the City of Elsinore met in regular session on May 25,
1964 and was called to order at 7:30 P.M, with Mayor Bartlett presiding.
Invocation was delivered by Rev. Coulter and the Pledge of Allegiance was
led by Councilman Berry.
Ro11 call found all five councilmen present. Attorney Dougherty and City
Manager Guler also in attendance.
The minutes of May 11, 1964 were corrected to show Avenue 6.
Warrants were approved & ordered paid on motion Councilman Yarborough,
seconded Councilman Stewart, Car.
The request of Nadine Farrar for a $25 donation for the senior party and
waiving of dance fees was granted on motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded
I~. Councilman Berry, Car.
Mayor Bartlett proclaimed May 28 & 2g as Poppy Days for the V.F.W.
Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman DePasquale, -0ar., City
Attorney to prepare necessary papers for the rezoning of East Graham &
Moroni area property from R-1 to R-3.
The request of Silver Street property owners for street improvement was
received and filed for consideration. Mr. Bartlett volunteered to poll
the property owners to see if they would install curbs & gutters.
Mayor Bartlett proclaimed Realtors Week, May 24-30, 1864.
Vern Mason presented the council with a proposal for valley-wide annexation.
Motion Councilman Yarborough, seconded Councilman Berry, Car., council
aware of annexation proceedings, and that petitioners will file with
Boundery Commission and Local Agency Formation Commission, the necessary
initiating documents.
The matter of recognizing the 25 years service of Vincent Tidwell with the
City of Elsinore was diaeussed. Motion Councilman DePasquale, sedonded
Councilman Stewart, car. to compensate Mr. Tidwell was withdrawn after
consulting with Attorney.
Ordinance #420 setting the mineral water rates was read and discussed and
passed on first reading on motion Councilman DePaequale, seconded
Councilman Yarborough, car. '
James Fischer requested the City of Elsinore to prepare an agreement to
allow him to connect his Meadowbeook area property to the City sewer.
system. This referred to Planning Commission for report and recommendation.
Mayor Bartlett requested that the City look into the possibility of adopting
an ordinance to prevent the drilling of private wells within the city.
City Attorney to investigate.
Councilman DePaequale gave a report on the Mayors & Councilmans Institute
in Santa Monica.
Alex Lewis inquired about the recent visit of Councilman DePaequale to
Miller's Barbeque and if authority granted to Councilmen for such
- investigations.
Motion Councilman Berry, seconded Councilman Yarborough, car, the meeting
adjourned at 11:00 P,M. to a Council personnel session~•
