Direct staff to file the Notice of Completion with the County Recorder 3. Direct staff to release all retention monies 35 days after the filing of the Notice of Completion Background On January 24, 2012, City Council awarded the construction contract to All American Asphalt. The rehabilitation included the grinding of the existing asphalt pavement, new curb and gutter, cross gutters and spandrels, A.C. berms to control water runoff and modifications to bring existing non - compliant ADA access ramps into compliance with the current standards. Construction on the project was completed on June 21, 2013 Discussion On January 24, 2012 the City Council awarded the construction contract to All American Asphalt. On March 6, 2012 the City received the Notice to Proceed from the CalRecycle Manager under the Rubberized Pavement Grant Program. The grant program paid the differential cost between the cost of the rubberized asphalt and cost of conventional asphalt concrete. The City will be reimbursed $161,500 under this program for the use of rubberized asphalt. AGENDA ITEM NO. 8 Page 1 of 4 Page 2 Notice of Completion July 23, 2013 Construction on this project was completed on June 21, 2013; however, staff and the contractor have been in discussions relating to overruns in the asphalt quantity. After several meetings, staff has reached an agreement with the contractor and recommends the City Council approve this notice of completion.
