• Publications: The July newsletter is currently available at the center and online,
highlighting the activities for July.
Cool Center Activation: The Center was activated June 27 -28, July 1 -5, & 8 -10 thus
far this summer. The Heat Warning is announced when it is estimated to be 97
degrees or higher for 3 or more days. We provide a cool place for seniors, with
refreshments and activities provided to those who come to the Center. We
document participation at the Center for the Community Action Partnership of
Riverside County during these days of activation and provide in -kind service
documentation at the conclusion of the season.
• Trips: Over fifty participants will travel to Alpine for a trip to Viejas Casino on July
18th. The Mission Inn Tour trip was so popular that a second trip is scheduled for

July 31.
Nutrition & Events: The center served 501 lunches in June, which resulted in an
overage of 41 lunches above the allocated 460 lunches for the month. Although we
have not yet received a bill, we will be responsible for approximately $216 to
subsidize the overage. On July 5th EVMWD provided a special FREE Picnic of Hot
Dogs & Hamburgers with all the trimmings. The Center had a very successful Ice
Cream Social on July 3rd with 31 participants; Walgreens donated the Ice Cream for
the event. Walgreens also provided water, sunscreen & lotion for our Walkers trips,
and a gift certificate as a door prize for our Patriotic Picnic. The Patriotic Picnic on
July 10th had 48 participants.
Programs: The Craft Corner coordinator, Rose McDonald has returned from her 2
month vacation and will re- institute the program at the Center. It is very popular
however the substitute became ill and was unable to continue it in Rose's absence.
The Cholesterol, Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure Screening will be conducted on

Basic Estate Workshop on July 22. Rae Ann Ramshaw will be back on July 30th for
