SUBJECT: LAKE ELSINORE MUNICIPAL CODE WAIVER FOR SMOKING
TIRES & CAMPGROUND FIRES CAR SHOW
Recommendations
Waive Lake Elsinore Municipal Code section 9.28.030 Furnishing alcoholic
beverages in public for the "Smoking Tires & Campground Fires" Car Show,
subject to compliance with all other conditions for the event as approved by the
City Manager.
Background
David Salvato and Barry Lefroy are the Organizers of the "Smoking Tires &
Campground Fires" Car Show to be held April 6`h at the La Laguna Resort and
Boat Launch. This event will feature as many as 500 classic cars, as well as
exhibitors, food vendors, amplified live music and a beer garden.
The Car Show is being held in memory of Skylar Neil (Please see attachment or

City Staff is in the process of preparing conditions for the event. A pre- requisite for
finalizing the conditions is obtaining the City Council's approval to waive the Lake
Elsinore Municipal Code (LEMC) to permit serving of alcoholic beverages in
public.
Discussion
The Organizers propose to serve beer and wine at the event. Those purchasing
alcohol will be required to provide proper identification to prove legal drinking age.
The Organizers are requesting a waiver of LEMC Section 9.28.030 (Furnishing
alcoholic beverages in public).

Fiscal Impact
The Event is anticipated to increase visitors to the La Laguna Resort & Boat
Launch on the day of the event and to attract return customers in the future.
