To City Council Members
My opinion is this Veterans Memorial should be placed in the City Park downtown and many
other residence I have spoken to feel the same way. Thousands of residents and visitors go past
the park everyday where the Memorial representing our Veterans would have better access to
the public. Question what about those citizens who do not travel or go to the stadium and there
are many, me included; therefore many of us would have better access to the Memorial
Monument in the City Park. Think about this WHAT IF THE CITY SELLS the Stadium
which in my opinion and that of others is apparent in the future. If that happens the
MEMORIAL will no longer be symbolic of the Veterans in the City of Lake Elsinore.
The reason I am stating my opinion is my husband was a Marine fighting overseas in the
Second World War and I also have two grandsons who served in the Marine's; therefore, I
have a great admiration for the Veterans Memorial Monument in the City of Lake Elsinore. I
am a believer in having the Cross on the Memorials; however, with or without the cross this is
for the admiration of our Veterans who gave their lives to protect us. Question those who are
objecting to any religious mention, or cross, or star on the Memorial did they serve in the
military fighting in a war to protect our Nation or ? So its time to quit this fighting and come
to an admiral conclusion without all the name calling and religious mud - slinging. Think about
our Veterans who gave their lives to protect our Nation.
I pray that you will give serious consideration to my proposal and that of many other citizens
who feel the same.

Please include my comment in tonight's council meeting on agenda item # 13: While 1 continue not in favor of
spending public funds on monuments, I am in favor of any design promoting Bible morality. You have history,
tradition, precedent, and law on your side. I support the design recommendation.
