HISTORIC PRESERVATION
AD HOC COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Joyce Hohenadl called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Pledge of allegiance was led by Chairman Hohenadl.

PRESENTATION
Virginia Bloom explained the Brown Act to the members concerning the guidelines of the act.

CONSENT CALENDAR
(1) Minutes of the August 21, 2012 Historic Preservation Commission Meeting.
Tim Fleming made a motion to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Linda
Ridenour. Motion was approved 5 -0.
(2) Preparation of a current inventory of structures and sites within the City of Lake Elsinore
It was discussed and determined that the members of the committee should research and report
back their findings at the October 16, 2012 meeting on the following:
a. Different resources and organizations that could assist the city in preparing a current
inventory of structures and sites within the City.

rb. Identify the estimated cost in completing an inventory and potential funding sources.
Committee members were assigned various cities and counties to contact in order to research and
obtain information concerning the above topics.
Tim Fleming made a motion to include the 16 districts which are in Lake Elsinore's General Plan
to become a part of our research and report. Ruth Atkins seconded the motion. Motion was
approved 5 -0. Tim Fleming will bring a copy of the General Plan to our October meeting.
(3) Survey of historic preservation programs currently being implemented by other California cities.
It was discussed and determined that the members of the committee should research and report
back their findings at the October 16, 2012 meeting on the following:
a. Historic preservation programs currently being implemented by other cities.
Committee members were assigned various cities and counties to contact in order to research and
obtain information concerning the above topic.

Chairman Joyce Hohenadl passed out copies of the Historic Riverside County Adventures pamphlet
that was prepared and distributed by the Riverside County Historical Commission. This pamphlet is a
guide to plan trips in Riverside County concerning historical sites.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Historic Preservation Ad Hoc Committee Chairman
Hohenadl adjourned the meeting at 3:10 p.m. The next regular meeting will be October 16, 2012 at
1:00 p.m. at the City Hall.
