Main St. Lake Elsinore, CA 92530 Dear Mr. Molendyk, RECEIVED SEP 3 1995 rITY MANAGER At your request, this letter represents Statistical Research, Inc.'s (SRI) formal bid to conduct archaeological excavations in the area of the parking lot berm at CA -RIV- 2798 /H. The following scope of work was developed through consultation with Stephen Dibble of the Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District (COE) and attempts to address many of the concerns raised in Dr. Bruce Love's letter to you dated August 24, 1993. Scope of Work 1. Work will concentrate on screening soil in the existing berm in the area where human remains have been encountered. 2 A sample of the berm on both sides of the area noted above will be screened. 3. Fill will be wet - screened through 1/8 inch mesh hardware cloth. All cultural material will be recovered. With the exception of human remains and associated grave goods, all artifacts will be processed, catalogued, and curated with the material recovered during the COE- sponsored archaeological excavations. 4. If human remains are recovered all applicable State and Federal laws will be followed. In particular, the coroner of the County of Riverside will be notified within 24 hours. Upon identification of the bones as Native American or probable Native American, the Native American Heritage Commission will be notified. Once the Native American Heritage Commission has identified the "most likely descendant," SRI will return the remains along with all associated grave goods. r, d^ a x z: AGENDA ITEF !O.
