The RDA /City owns the building at 183 North Main Street known as
the "Methodist Church". Staff has reviewed and determined what
improvements are needed to facilitate utilization of the first
floor of the building only. Staff has checked state and local laws
concerning unreinforced masonry and at,this time no up- grading is
required.
DISCUSSION
Listed below are cost estimates to clean -up and repair the
building. These costs are based on the RDA /City acting as the
owner /builder contractor. The RDA /City will obtain a significant
number of bids on each area of the work.

The above list is the Scope of Work which needs to be accomplished
and what staff is proposing.

FISCAL IMPACT
Administrative Services Director has indicated that the
rehabilitation of the building is a funded Redevelopment Agency
project and $200,000 is the budgeted amount.

It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency approve the Scope
of Work and direct staff to solicit bids, approve and execute all
contracts for the rehabilitation to a maximum amount of $200,000.00
for fiscal year 1993 -94.
