HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem No.SA5CITY OF LAKE ELSINORE REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL /REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: RON MOLENDYK, CITY MANAGER DATE: APRIL 27, 1993 SUBJECT: STRUCTURE ABATEMENT PROGRAM BACKGROUND In the 92/93 Budget, Structure Abatement was approved with $75,000 in Professional Services, which are the funds used to demolish structures that the City has jurisdiction to abate. DISCUSSION At this time, the City's Structure Abatement funds have been exhausted. Staff proposes to complete the abatement process on the following properties and on the others require the property owner to board -up the remaining properties. If the properties become trashy, unsightly or covered with graffiti, staff will start Nuisance Abatement processing and clean the properties. These properties are: Demolish - cost $44,800 estimate 301 North Spring 505 Minthorn Board -up - cost $12,000 estimate 211 East Pottery 409 North Langstaff 308 North Langstaff 410 North Poe 164 South Main 17377 Baker 790 Lake Street 206 East Franklin 29523 La Shell 20181 Riverside 103 Mohr Properties Pending Engineering Design or Permits 17054 Ulmer Street 135 west Sumner Street Owner Demolish 31085 Machado - pending Redevelopment Agency action. FISCAL IMPACT To demolish and board -up remaining properties would need to appropriate $60,000 from the Redevelopment Agency Escrow Account. RECOMMENDATION Recommend that City Council /Redevelopment Board approve the transferring of $60,000 from the Redevelopment Escrow Account.
