SUBJECT: ANNUAL REORGANIZATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY
COMMISSION TO SELECT THE CHAIRPERSON AND VICE -
CHAIRPERSON
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Public Safety Advisory Commission (PSAC) yield the chair to
the PSAC Secretary to open the nomination process for the position of Chairperson,
receive nominations, close the nominations and conduct a roll call vote; then the newly
selected Chairperson will assume the chair and open the nomination process for the
position of Vice - Chairperson, receive nominations, close the nominations and conduct a
roll call vote.
DISCUSSION
City Council Policy No. 200- 5A(G)(1) states that
A. Selection of Chair and Vice Chair
1. The Chair and Vice -Chair of each Commission shall be selected upon
establishment and in July of each year thereafter by a majority of the
members and shall serve for one year or until their successors are
selected.
2. Each Commission may annually rotate its Chair.

Pursuant to City Council Policy No. 200- 5A(G)(1) (See Attached) staff is advising that the
Public Safety Advisory Commission select a Chair and Vice -Chair who will serve in their
capacity as Chair and Vice -Chair until July 2013.
