The monthl residential rate will g o from $22.90 per month to $23.38 per month. I:Ttm 0 • • CR&R Incorporated holds a contract in the Cit of Lake Elsinore to collect and dispose of all refuse and to collect and process all rec in the Cit The contract specifies that rates be ad annuall to reflect chan in the Consumer Price Index ( CPI) and an increases in the Riverside Count Landfill Fees. The current monthl residential rate is $22.90 which includes the Landfill Fee of $3.78. Discussion Cit staff has been notified that the Count of Riverside Waste Mana Department will be re an increase to the landfill tippin fees of 2.2% from $26.35 to $26.93 per ton. This y ear, CR&R is re a CPI rate ad per the contract. The re increase is based on the data supplied b the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the 12 months endin March 31, 2012, in which the Consumer Price Index (CPI for the Los An Riverside and Oran Count area increased b 2%. This CPI increase does not appl to the $3.78 Landfill Fee portion of the monthl service cost. Accordin the CPI increase will result in a $0.48 per month increase for residential refuse collection. The monthl residential rate will g o from $22.90 per month to $23.38 per month. Pa 1 of 4 Annual Consumer Price Index Increase June 12, 2012 Pa 2 In addition due to the passa of AB341 (State of California's new Mandator Commercial Rec Law) CR&R would like to implement a new service level for commercial businesses that g enerate a small amount of rec materials. The service would consist of a 60 or 90 g allon cart with a weekl collection. The rate would be $29.95 for the 60 g allon cart and $34.95 for the 90 g allon cart. Fiscal Impact The contract specifies that 20% of CR&R's g ross revenues, less landfill fees, shall be pa to the Cit at the end of each q uarter of the fiscal y ear.
