SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
Recommendation
The Council sub - committee will make its recommendation to the Mayor for
consideration of three (3) full -term appointments to the City's Planning Commission. A
vote will be called for each nomination, and the applicant receiving the highest number
of affirmative votes from the majority of the Council present shall be appointed to serve
on the City's Planning Commission for a term commencing on July 1, 2012 and ending
on June 30, 2016.
Discussion
The term of office for three sitting Planning Commissioners expires on June 30, 2012.
Pursuant to City Council Policy No. 200 -5A, the City Clerk's office published and posted
the Notice of Accepting Applications for Consideration of Appointment to the City's
Planning Commission during the months of March and April. A total of four applications
were received by the filing deadline. On May 15, the Council sub - committee conducted
interviews of all four applicants.
Pursuant to Lake Elsinore Municipal Code Section 2.24.030 and City Council Policy No.
200 -5A, the City Council sub - committee will make its recommendation to the Mayor for
appointment of three Planning Commissioners with the approval of a majority of the
members of the City Council. The term of office for the newly appointed Planning
Commissioners will commence on July 1, 2012 and expire on June 30, 2016. Copies of
each application have been distributed to the City Council under separate cover and the
originals are maintained in the City Clerk's office.
