SUBJECT: 2012 PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION GOALS AND
OBJECTIVES
Background
On October 12, 2011, the PSAC voted unanimously to include the following items as part
of the 2011-2012 PSAC Goals and Objectives; subjectto CityCauncil final approval. They
are as follows:
• Shoreline Safety implementation Plan(s)
• lUeighborhood Outreach Meetings
• Graffiti Education
• Alberhill Ranch and Pacific Aggregates Outreach
• Crime-Free Multi Housing
• Public l~luisances and Code Enforcement
• Volunteer Citizen's Patrol
• Lake Elsinore Citizen's Corp
• C.E,R.T. Training
• School Traffic Circulation as the
On January 11, 2012, the PSAC voted unanimously to make a recommendation to the City
Council to select a joint City CouncllPSAC study-session to discuss the previously
selected PSAC goals and objectives for 2012.

Discussion
i!1lhile waiting for the Joint City CouncillPSAC study to be agendized, the Commission
began working on researching the Crime-Free Multi-Housing and the Volunteer Citizen's
Patrol programs, The Commission formed two {2}subcommittees for each program, which
was comprised of two (2} members each.
These two {2~ subcommittees began conducting research and meeting with applicable staff
members to identify the program operations as well as associated annual operating costs.
At the regularly scheduled PSAC meeting of February 8, 2012, the Lake Elsinore Police
Department gave a presentation tothe Commission on the Crime-Free Multi-Noosing and
the Lake Elsinore Volunteer Citizen's Patrol.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council review and discuss the proposed PSAC 2012
goals and objectives and direct the commission and staff accordingly.
