GENERAL CONDITIONS 10.FIRE.999PC -#01 —West Fire Protection Planning Office Responsibility IN EFFECT It is the responsibility of the recipient of these Fire Department conditions to forward them to all interested parties. Phone: (951) 955- 4777, Fax: (951) 955 -4886. 10.FIRE.999 CASE — CITY CASE STATEMENT IN EFFECT With respect to the conditions of approval for the referenced project, the Fire Department recommends the following fire protection measures be provided in accordance with Riverside County Ordinances and /or recognize fire protection standards 10.FIRE.999 USE -#50 -BLUE DOT REFELECTOR IN EFFECT Blue retro reflective pavement markers shall be mounted on private street, public streets and driveways to indicate location of fire hydrants. Prior to installation, placement of markers must be approved by Riverside County Fire Department. 10.FIRE.999 USE-#23— MIN REQ FIRE FLOW IN EFFECT Minimum required fire flow shall be 1000 GPM for two hours duration at 20 PSI residual operating pressure, which must be available before any combustible material is placed on the job site. 77 -933 Las Montanas, Palm Desert, CA 92211 • (760) 863 -8886 • Fax (760) 863 -7072 F:Tlaming_and_Engineering \Conditions (Cities, EDA, etc)\LAKE ELSINORE\2010 LAKE ELS \10- LE -AB -03 11- 16- 2010.doc Page 1 of 2 10.FIRE.999 USE - #20- FIRE HYDRANT IN EFFECT Standard fire hydrant(s) (6" x 4" x 2 '' /z') shall be located within 250' of any portion of the lot frontage. 10.FIRE.999 USE - DRIVEWAY /ACCESS 16% GRADE IN EFFECT Driveway shall be asphalt or concrete surface. 10.FIRE.999 USE - #25- GATE ENTRANCES IN EFFECT Gate entrances shall be at least two feet wider than the width of the traffic lane (s) serving that gate. Any gate providing access from a road to a driveway shall be located at least 35 feet from the roadway and shall open to allow vehicle to stop with out obstructing traffic on the road. Where a one -way road with a single traffic lane provides access to a gate entrance, 40 foot turning radius shall be used. 10.FIRE.999 USE - #88A- AUTO /MAN GATES IN EFFECT Gate (s) shall be automatic or manual operated, minimum 20 feet width, with a setback of 35 feet from face of curb /flow line. Gate access shall be equipped with a rapid entry system. Plans shall be submitted to the Fire Department for approval prior to installation. Automatic /manual gate pins shall be rated with shear pin force, not to exceed 30 foot pounds. Automatic gates shall be equipped with emergency backup power. Gates activated by the rapid entry system shall remain open until closed by the rapid entry system. Current plan check deposit base fee is $126.00. 80. PRIOR TO BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE 80.FIRE.999 USE 44 —WATER PLANS IN EFFECT The applicants or developer shall separately submit two copies of the water system plans to the Fire Department for review and approval. Calculated velocities shall not exceed 100 feet per second. Plans shall conform to the fire hydrant types, location and spacing. The system shall meet the fire flow requirements. Plans shall be signed and approved by a registered civil engineer and the local water company with the following certification: '9 certify that the design of the water system is in accordance with the requirements prescribed by the Riverside County Fire Department." 90. PRIOR TO BUILDING FINAL INSPECTION 90.FIRE.999 USE 427- EXTINGUISHERS IN EFFECT Install portable fire extinguishers with a minimum rating of 2A -1013C and signage. Fire Extinguishers located in public areas shall be in a recessed cabinets mounted 48" (Inches) to center above the floor level with Maximum 4" projection from the wall.
