Magee Date: August 30, 2005 Re: Discussion Topics, Goals, Objectives & Suggestions for Study Session Planning Commission I. Maintaining high design and'landscape standards. 2. Full and careful review of applicant and constituent (i.e. residents) concerns. 3. A continuance with direction is always an option. 4. The Commission's job is to attempt to do all the heavy lifting b.efore a project gets to the City Council. 5. The City Council is highly supportive oflndustrial & Commercial projects provided they meet our design and development code standards. 6. Residential projects: Council has been sensitive to lot sizes, off-street parking, common area maintenance responsibilities and CFD Debt loads. Public Safety Advisory Commission 1. ,Interaction with (i.e. go out and visit) all neighborhood watch groups. 2. Review and suggest revisions to various codes and regulations such as: a. Lake shore camping ordinances, permitted uses on the lake shore. b. Recreational vehicle parking (boats, trailers, buggies, RV's, etc.), example ordinances provided by Councilman Hickman. c. Graffiti and vandalism cameras. 3. Review budgets for Fire, Sheriff & Code Enforcement. Make suggestions on new equipment needs. Review cost-sharing strategies for fire protection services with the County and with the City of Canyon Lake. 4.
