BRADY CITY MANAGER DATE: APRIL 19, 2011 SUBJECT: GRANT OF EASEMENT TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON APN 373-161-014 Background Southern California Edison Company (SCE) is the utility responsible for installation of new electricity facilities. SCE is asking the City for a 6 foot wide permanent utility easement in the vicinity of the Lakeshore Drive and Main Street intersection. Discussion Conditions of Approval for the Summerly housing project require a signal to be installed at the intersection of Lakeshore and Main Street. McMillin Summerly LLC has assumed responsibility for the signal construction, and has plans in plan check. The design of the signal requires new electrical service in a parcel that belongs to the City. The parcel is old railroad right of way, and is currently unused. The easement will be used for location and maintenance of the signal's power source. Fiscal Impact There are no fiscal impacts to the City. All costs related to this easement shall be the responsibility of Southern California Edison or McMillin Summerly LLC.
