SUBJECT: RE-ORGANIZATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAKE ELSINORE
Discussion
Annually, the City Council selects a Mayor and a Mayor Pro Tem.
Recommendation
(1) Selection of Mayor:
1. The current Mayor opens the nomination for the position of Mayor.
2. Receive second
3. Roll call vote is taken by the City Clerk
If a majority vote is not reached, then the nomination for the position of Mayor is
reopened until a majority vote is reached.
(2) The new Mayor then presides over the remainder of the meeting:
1. Opens the nomination for the position of Mayor Pro Tem
2. Receive second
3. Roll call vote is taken by the City Clerk
If a majority vote is not reached, then the nomination for the position of
Mayor Pro Tem is reopened until a majority vote is reached.
