SUBJECT: CONSTRUCTION OF MACHADO PARK LANDSCAPE
IMPROVEMENTS AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW RESTROOM -
NOTICE OF COMPLETION
Background
The City Council approved the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
funds from two prior fiscal years to finance the replacement of the Machado Park
restroom. The total allocation for the renovation of the restrooms is $160,000.
The scope of work for this project included the demolition of the existing restroom, site
preparation, installation of the new restroom, concrete work, and installation of new
irrigation and landscaping.
Discussion
On September 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., the City received seven (7) bids from qualified
construction companies to make Machado Park improvements per plans and
specifications.
The low bidder was Landmark Site Contractors, with a bid of $37,400.00. Construction
began on December 31, 2009 and was completed on February 5, 2010. All the work
was completed in conformance with plans and specifications.

Fiscal Impact
Total project budget for the Machado Park Restroom was $160,000 funded through the
Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG). The total project cost breakdown
is as follows:

Soil Testing

Total $155,068.08
The project was constructed within the adopted budget and completed within the
allotted working days.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the Notice of
Completion and have the City Clerk file the Notice of Completion with the County of
Riverside.
