DREAM EXTREME
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR
AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: ROBERT A. BRADY
CITY MANAGER
DATE: JUNE 22, 2010
SUBJECT: QUITCLAIM OF RIVERSIDE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL EASEMENTS
WITHIN THE PALOMAR/CORYDON CHANNEL IN TRACT 30846
Background
Tentative Tract Map 30846 was approved with multiple lots for drainage and Riverside
County Flood Control use. The City currently has easements for maintenance purposes
on various sites within these lots. Riverside County Flood Control (RCFC) has
requested that these easements be quitclaimed to RCFC, in accordance with the
agreement dated 03/31/2006. RCFC will then be able to maintain these Flood Control
areas.
Discussion
An agreement was recorded on 2/11/09 between RCFC, County of Riverside, KB Home
Coastal and the City of Lake Elsinore. The purpose of this cooperative agreement was
to have all of the facilities constructed for flood protection and drainage, followed by
permanent maintenance conducted by RCFC. All requirements have been fulfilled, and
RCFC is prepared to accept the Palomar/Corydon channel for operation and
maintenance.
Fiscal Impact
None. All costs associated with the maintenance of the flood control areas shall be the
responsibility of the RCFC.
